Michael Begg solo show concluding a 2 week composer residency at Centro Mexicano para la Musica y los Artes Sonores. Event premiered a new work; Sonámbulo: un bebedero para pájaros compuesto por dientes para la novia del viento (Sleepwalker: a birdbath composed of teeth for the bride of the wind) based on the work of painter Leonora Carrington. The residency and performance were developed as part of Seeing Hearing UK Mexico, a three-year collaboration between the UK and Mexico made possible with the support of Anglo Arts the cultural department of The Anglo Mexican Foundation A.C; British Council Mexico, CMMAS (Centro Mexicano para la Música y las Artes Sonoras) and Cryptic.

Site specific installation – TITAN: A Crane Is A Bridge – for Cryptic Sonica 2017. The installation was established in the wheeelhouse and on the viewing deck of the crane, 150 ft above the rover Clyde.

TITAN went on to win the New Music Scotland award 2018 for newElectroacoustic Sound Art work.

Michael Begg and Colin Potter perform a new collaborative work, Fragile Pitches to a packed cathedral crowd as part of the city of Edinburgh’s official Hogmanay celebrations. The cathedral is dimly lit by hundreds of candlelit vests suspended from the cathedral ceiling placed by French street theatre company, Carabosse.
